Network vs. Community

Published on September 9, 2026

Everyone has a network. Almost nobody has people who actually know what they're building — here's the difference.

A network is people you know, but a community is people who know you.

Doesn't sound like much until you sit with it a while. Everyone's got a network. Thousands of connections, people you met once at a conference five years ago and never spoke to again. That's not nothing. But it's also not going to catch you when you actually need catching.

A community knows what you're trying to build. Aligns with where you're trying to get to. Shows up when it matters. That's the whole point of what we're doing here, building a room full of people who genuinely want each other to win.

That's the difference. And once you've had a true community, you don't really want to go back to just having a network.
